This will allow the South American Associations to count on all their players for the friendlies of the next FIFA date.
The next FIFA date will have friendlies in the period from March 18 to 26, so CONMEBOL decided to adjust the programming of matches of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2019. In this way, the matches of date 3 of the Group Stage initially scheduled for the week of March 25 to 31, will be rescheduled for the week of April 1 to 7. The change will allow the Associations to have all their players ready for the preparatory friendlies for the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019 that will be played from June 14 to July 7, and that the clubs have their maximum potential in all of their matches, to the benefit of the development of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2019. This eventuality was expected to be analysed when the initial match schedule was drawn up.
