Group A leaders Argentina and Chile celebrate their first wins

On a huge day in the  CONMEBOL Copa América 2021 Argentina and Chile both picked up huge wins against Uruguay and Bolivia to sit joint top of Group A on points. In the first game of the day Chile secured their first victory of the tournament as they beat Bolivia 1-0 thanks to a goal from their England born striker Ben Brereton, who was one of the standout performers. • Chile have now gone six games unbeaten against Bolivia in the CONMEBOL Copa América (5 wins, 1 draw). In addition, the Chilean team secure their third consecutive victory in the competition against Bolivia. • Chile has scored at least one goal against Bolivia in seven consecutive games at the CONMEBOL Copa América (5 wins, 1 daw, 1 loss). La Roja scored in 14 of the 15 games in the competition against the Bolivia. • Bolivia only conceded one goal against Chile in tonight's game. The Bolivians had not conceded fewer than two goals in a CONMEBOL Copa América match against a rival from their confederation since July 2011 when they drew 1-1 against Argentina (1 win, 11 draws). • Chile had 14 shots on goal from inside the Bolivian area. This equals the most attempts on goal by a CONMEBOL side against a continental rival since 2007. Venezuela conceded 14 shots in 2011, Panama 14 in 2016 and Mexico 16 in 2016. • Bolivia's Carlos Lampe made 10 saves against Chile. This is the most saves in any CONMEBOL Copa América since at least 2007.
- - Argentina victorious in the Río de la Plata derby -  Lionel Scaloni's side picked up their first win of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2021 by beating old rivals Uruguay at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasilia. The only goal of the game was scored by Guido Rodríguez while legendary captain Lionel Messi was in inspired form. Messi was at the heart of all of Argentina's best work and was a constant headache for a robust Uruguayan defense. The big win means Argentina sit top of Group A alongside Chile with 4 points. Paraguay and Uruguay both have 3 points but have a game in hand while Peru are bottom with no points from 2 games.

• Argentina are now undefeated in 5 games against Uruguay in the CONMEBOL Copa América (4 wins, 1 draw). Uruguay's last win was 2-0 in the 1989 edition. • Argentina have kept a clean sheet against Uruguay in 4 of their last 5 games (3 wins, 2 draws). Uruguay have not scored in 2 consecutive games against Argentina since qualifiers in 2005 (1-0 win to Argentina) and October 2008 (2-1 win for Argentina). • This is the first defeat in 6 CONMEBOL Copa América games for Uruguay (3 wins, 2 draws).
